Description

The water-cooling loop was designed to maximise heat exchanging surface area to minimise the speed the two fans had to spin to keep the CPU and GPU cool.

The case has been fitted with a 120mm radiator in the bottom and modified to install a massive 280mm x 140mm radiator in the front. The pipes are made from copper and are coated with chrome.

Very easy to drain and refill due to the accessible placement of the drain and fill ports.

The two Crucial BX500 960 GB drives ran in RAID 0.

Date Built Aug. 2, 2020

seems legit.

Wow, very nice work. I had fun fitting similar radiators in the larger version, but you managed it in the smaller one!

Fantastic look and execution.

amazing build congrats!

That is an amazing looking system. There is no way I'd even start to be able to do something like that. With those components, I'm sure it runs as well as it looks.

Custom water cooling in an Evolv Shift and a great hardware choice. Well done!

Love it! Any more details on what looks to be a tiny res?

Whiskeyfire

The details are there was no way to get something bigger. I tried but a 50mm diameter res but had clearance issues with the side panel.

Why did you go for BX500 drives as opposed to MX500 at this price point?

Whiskeyfire

I actually got these for $134 each when the prices were low. Much better deal at the time than now

did it need a bios update or it booted just fine?

Whiskeyfire

No I needed a 2000 series chip to boot. I had a spare 2600 I was selling

Great build, what fittings/pipes/res did you use for this?

Whiskeyfire

Got all the fittings and pipes from Ali express. Makes it much cheaper, quality is pretty good but not like mainstream fittings.

Can you show how you modified the case to fit the 280mm radiator in?

SilkyZ
  • 4 years 11 months ago

if you only used a 240x120 rad, would you not have to mod the case?

Whiskeyfire
  • 4 years 10 months ago

No would still have to. you could fit a 140 down the bottom from max

Hey, I absolutely love this build! I am going to do a build in this same case, except with an i7 8700 paired with an RTX 2060 Super FE. Did you have to use a riser cable or did it come with a built-in one because I know some cases do and don't.

Whiskeyfire
  • 4 years 9 months ago

Not telling. Check out any youtube video about the case.

Just wondering. Everything in this is running fine despite being a 450W PSU? My next system is going to use the same CPU, and same PSU. But the question is whether to go with a 5700, or a 5700xt, because of the PSU's limits. I don't plan on overclocking or anything mostly because I value silence so.

how much does the case cost

oykiyab
  • 5 years 1 month ago

Does that Radeon 5700XT melt the metal fittings and tubes by chance?

Whiskeyfire

I thought about that so all the fittings and pipes are brass or copper. The only plastic is in the pump and res

oykiyab

Thats alright then!
