Originally had some problems with stand offs and getting the bios shield on (be it the mobos problem or the case) but ultimately an easy board to work with that was brilliant all round.

AMAZING motherboard. Came with a really helpful manual, and made it easy to install anything.

Picked this mother board because it supports both 8th and 9th gen Intel CPUs so in the future I can upgrade from my i5-9600k to something like an i7-8700k which would be cheaper than upgrading to an i7-9700k. The only inconvenience I’ve experienced so far is the lack of SLI support which isn’t a big deal since my RTX 2070 8gb can’t support SLI either. Also overclocking my cpu using the bios is super simple.

Less USB ports at it's price point compared to older MSI boards at the same price, only 2 usb 3.0 and one usb 3.1 type A but the included type C is a nice touch and has two usb 2.0 but compared to their older boards does have less, but same MSI build quality and nice uefi no doubt it will last just as long as my old one which is still going after 4 years.

This motherboard ticks all the boxes you'd expect from an entry-level Z390 board, and the price after Microcenter's bundle deal was fantastic. MSI's GUI settings setup is usable (if not pretty) and most of the board is well laid out. The PCIe power connector is in a bit of an awkward spot, where a larger air cooler may have caused an issue but the 212X fit just fine. There are five system fan headers, two on the bottom, two along the right side, and one (mercifully) just near the exhaust fan in the upper left. One star subtracted for not including a decent paper manual in the box -- the multilingual "quick start guide" was awkward to read and didn't include much useful info. The online manual is complete, but not user friendly when viewed on a phone screen.

See completed build Dreamsicle. 4/5 because I had to manually install network drivers and it doesn’t have an onboard Type-c socket. There’s one on the i/o, but I can’t connect my front of case Type-c. Otherwise, this board is easy to use with everything labeled. Took me a full day to connect everything, but that’s just because I was learning. It has a brown color to it, but it honestly looks pretty good.

Nice entry 9th gen motherboard and the boot screen picture looks very nice and simplistic. MSI's pro series is a very good motherboard series.
