A new build for my little brother. This is by far my favorite budget build combo except for the 1 TB. I wouldve swapped it out for a 256 SSD. I also bought a new fancy camera. Panasonic DMC FZ-200.

Pretty sweet for under five Benjamins. Nice job on photography, too. It looks like you're missing a standoff screw, though (LR corner of board).

The one looks like a locating stud, and the other might require a standoff to be moved. It's a standard mounting location, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a spot for it. A brief stint on GIS makes it look like there is, bu it's probably not worth going back and fixing at this point.

I personally would have started off with a pentium G4560, and once I get a little bit more cash, would have upgraded to the i5 7500 or 7600. Most i3s are not needed anymore due to the new pentiums that are out.

Hey I don't know much about building PCs, so I was wondering if I could switch out the 1050 Ti with a 1060 3-GB. Will that cause any issues?

Would be better. A bog standard cheapo 1060 of any kind will be better than the very best super super super FTW super-clocked 1050 TI. If you do your research you'll see that the 6gb 1060 is only around 5% faster than the 3gb in games (the 3gb has a small section disabled). As for VRAM, bigger isn't necessarily better. The 1060 doesn't need 6gb as the vram can only operate so fast - meaning any more than 3gb is very unlikely to get used. In games that is, 8K video editing might be a different story.

I honestly would've gone with an AMD chip here, as you're going to need at least a quad core for stable gaming without dips, and you could've gotten an FX-6300 for a few bucks less.

This processor is basically a quad core with hyper threading and can out perform a 6300 any day! I have personally owned both. I also needed the strong single core performance for Arma 3, because the 6300 is too weak compared to the highest ranking single core performance i3.

Ah, I see now. :P I guess I was just looking at it from a purely budget standpoint, since I have affinity for those.

I say that while owning an AMD FX 8320E OC'd to 4.2ghz and a GTX 970.
