Description

PC is used purely for Graphic Design. I needed something to be able to do 30Kx30K 300ppi renders in a reasonable time frame, and this is what came out of it. Bought Wood Vinyl Wrap from Amazon, and wrapped the majority parts of the case with it. Not the easiest process, but turned out exactly as I wanted it.

Crazy fast. No hiccups and handles every render flawlessly.

CPU Cooler

Corsair H100i GTX 70.69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Phenomenal at cooling, BUT it's pretty noisy when the pump kicks on, and it's not a pleasant noise. Whiny.

Motherboard

Asus X99-M WS Micro ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

Stable, handles all overclocks well, all the connections are conveniently placed, and board is beautiful.

Memory

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Works as RAM should, and looks very nice. Sleek dark red is slick.

Storage

PNY CS2111 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

3rd one of these SSD's I've bought in the last month for various uses. Everyone is super fast and reliable, have never had an issue.

Storage

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Can be a bit noisy, but nothing too terrible! Works well.

Video Card

Asus GeForce GTX 960 4 GB Video Card

Photoshop CS6 loves this card. Everything looks beautiful and it runs like a champ. 0 noise unless needed is an added bonus.

Case

Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower Case

Cable management was a dream with the dual-chamber design. Oriented the case technically sideways, and it looks awesome. Also held the vinyl wrap very well.

Power Supply

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Runs great, electricity bill actually dropped from previous retail desktop! Runs for about 12 hours a day and does so fantastically. Modular design is a benefit.

Operating System

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit

In my opinion: The best Windows yet.

Case Fan

Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM 31.37 CFM 80 mm Fan

Silent. Pulls air like no one's business.

Case Fan

Thermaltake Riing 12 LED Blue 40.6 CFM 120 mm Fan

Colors are pretty, air flow is great, but does make a tiny bit of noise!

I don't think you'd need the extra psu cables. Although this might take some time, you should be able to kinda tuck some cables around the corner of the motherboard. You may even have to unscrew the board from the standoffs to tuck them under. Either way, take your time and don't rush. This baby will last you a while.

This is the vinyl I used. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L9J2WF2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 Just keep in mind that that roll was just enough to cover the whole case, and this is a Micro-ATX case so for a mid or full tower, I would order 2 rolls. Also an 18" ruler, a cutting board, and an Xacto knife came in very handy.

this build is siiiiq :). Like madurham84 I am also thinking of stealing this idea. If you wanted to go all out you could vinal wrap your cpu block, and the gpu shroud, and maybe get like brown and black sleeved cables :D.

this is like a whole new world of possibilities for cases, could get like red and white wrap for a color themed build, seems like it makes doing a custom case alot more accessible (price wise) if you are prepared to put in the time.

Cool concept and great cable management! Quick question: Are you using the case on its side like that? I really am considering the Air 240 with all these set-ups floating around. Yours is the most creative I've seen. Sick build.

Yes I am! The feet come separate so you can orient it in whatever fashion you'd like. Airflow is fine no matter what you do. I did it that way because I wanted the grill to wrap around horizontally and not off to the side vertically, it's much more aesthetically pleasing. The front Corsair logo rotates too so whatever to end on you can make it look like it was intended to be that way. This was the first build of my life, and doing a MicroATX case was hella risky, but the design made it super easy. Only problem I had was squishing down the power cable for the GPU. This 960 is really tall, and the PSU's cables are FAT, so I had to bend and squish until the window finally slid on.

Really nice job on the vinyl wrap!! I would love this for my HTPC, but I lack the patience for that kind of work.
